Late at night / Early in the morning

a sliver of my infinite love for summers in korea
it says "sometimes i wake up at 4am jetlagged.
but it doesn't bother me. it's summer."
It's 5 AM right now and I just finished my letter to the acceptance committee.  I can hear my mom reprimand me across the Pacific Ocean, 'This is why you get pimples!'

Nonetheless.  I love sharing how wonderful and amazing summers in Korea are. Color, temperature, texture, light, faces, humidity, intimacy.  I know many aren't too crazy about it...but I AM A BIG FAN.  And that's all that matters.

---[update]---
I have been accepted. :)

duh wut?
Dangit...missed the blog post deadline by 20 minutes..

I had an interview yesterday for grad school and it was terrible!  There were two interviewers and one of them seemed unimpressed the whole time.  He kept interjecting with questions and sort of criticized my responses.  I felt so pressured to impress him that I ended up not being myself during the interview.  I kept talking loudly, repeating trite "doctor" ideas and looking at his face to see his reaction, but his face was consistent the whole time...it read "JE SUIS NOT IMPRESSED."  I ended up feeling desperate and started talking about things that were not related to the questions or topics at all.  It was very unsettling.

I wish I was blindfolded or tactless about reading his facial expressions.

So now, I'm writing an email to them because I felt as though I didn't represent myself properly...  Hopefully, I'll hear good news on Monday afternoon.

colors from chanel spring/summer 2010
Whoops...missed a day!  I'm going to try uploading a doodle or two on a daily basis (but no more than two!).  Usually I give up because I get lazy.  I'm really really going to try...no wait,
Imma DO eet.

Anyway, I've wanted to be many things in life, one of them being a 'fashion designer.'

3. I'm not too fond of the word "fashion."  I think it's because the word is being overused for non-quality things.  Lately, I've been envisioning a tacky neon pink backdrop with a floating green scrunchie whenever I hear the word.  But I do use the word..
4. I'm not one of those Asian girls who are obsessed with luxury goods.

The Sandra Hair

Throughout high school, I used to have a signature hair style.  It was a piece of hair that naturally fell across my forehead.  I liked it and others liked it, too.

But after years of studying and having my weight go up and down like a yo-yo, my hair never went back to what it used to be.  It became coarse and flat.  I had less baby hair and (I swear) my hair started to recede because I would tie it up in a ponytail 24-7.  My precious piece of hair was gone.

A day ago, my cousin asked me what happened to the old coiffure that she liked.  I thought to myself, "Yeah...what happened?  I can do it again, can't I?"

I was motivated to go back to the old Sandra.  So I got some strands of hair and cut it!  TA-DA!

wow...this le sucks

Unfortunately, turned out to be too straight and unnatural looking.  It didn't fall in place like it used to and it would just be swept up with the rest of my hair...*sigh...*

1. It's impossible for her hair to grow past her collarbone because she loves the feeling of getting her hair shampooed and cut by the salon people.
2.  Sandra used to have naturally light brown hair.  Church ladies would be shocked and ask her mother why on earth she would dye her young eight year old daughter's hair.  As Sandra grew older, her hair turned darker and church ladies stopped asking her mother those questions.
