High School

(2007)
as always, bent in cafes and drinking coffee.  i think i drew hundreds of these forms.  i'm not sure why, but this is how i felt.

Back Home

There is no place like home.

For the past week, I have religiously been going to the skin doctor and chiropractor, sleeping and eating.  Today will be the first day I will seeing my friends!  My skin has improved, but is discolored and my back has straightened, but is sore from all the hammering and bending.

see the blemishes? T^T
I was pretty moody because of my skin condition and sore body, so I just flipped through my old diaries and notebooks.

I found one of my architecture notebooks and I totally forgot I drew things inside it!

Nothing super special, but I love buildings and beautiful spaces.  I really wanted to design a library I dreamed of...THE MOST ROMANTIC LIBRARY EVER.  Simple and woody with glowing lights on a slightly isolated area near a city.  I also wanted to create the most fantastic hotel ever.

E-mail my dad sent me this morning

We have a little pond at our house now.
With my objection, Margaret 이모 forced Mom to buy one since she had one at her home.
See what happened -- I ended up taking care of this little pond every day.
We put five Guppies into the pond without any heating.
One of guppies died but 3 female and one male guppies survived and propered.
One day, I found out there are 25 baby guppies in the pond!
==> Check the photos that I attached.
After three weeks, none of baby guppies died.
Hence there are tons of guppies swimming inside the little pond!
I have to feed them every morning and evening.
I hope none of them dies before you come home.
(By the way, we visited Margaret 이모 house in Daejon and found out all of her fishes died in the pond because her house is too cold!)
See you soon!

My sister's doodles

I have never received a care package before.
Sadly.

I've sent out several to my close friends and family, but never received one.
Sadly.

Anyhoo, my sister sent me some drugs (acne medication), stickers and a letter for the very first time.
It made me happy :)

i opened my mail box and saw this smooshed brita filter box...

oh...it's from my sister.
it says "SORRY ABOUT THIS GHETTO PACKAGE"

the card. she think's i'm her hero :)

ohlala cellphone radiation things

this totally looks like her

introducing, the little lee's drawings

she drew this because i told her i saw an acupuncturist for my skin who poked
holes all over my face and it freaked me out.
sarah has this penchant of drawing busty women in tight suits...it's weird

"the scary violin music"

"SANDRA NOW (in my head)"
uhh actually, quite close to actuality!

"IN REALITY"
awww so sweet

"IN SARAH'S EYES"

At the Thai family restaurant

During the time of my interviews and stay at my cousin's place months and months ago, I distinctly remember there was a couple in their fifties about two tables down from us who looked so disinterested in each other!  They looked in opposite directions and ate quietly.

a seemingly loveless matrimony
Perhaps they knew each other so well there was no need for words...
Marriage seems so complicated.

Winters in Korea

I was never fond of cold weathers (with the exception of wearing coats)

Despite the weather, we'd always have to run errands by walking--through rain, the frigid cold, unbearable humidity, season of Mongolian yellow dust.

It was always a mini adventure :)

Basketball Friend

I must say I was pretty lucky to have a friend play for college basketball and give me and a friend free annual tickets to see him play against UPenn in the winter!

But from Bryn Mawr to UPenn was a train ride away.  And from my dorm to Bryn Mawr's train station was a pretty good walk away.

For the first game, my freshman year, I was late.  So as soon as I got out of the shower and dressed, I ran for the train station.  After five minutes of non-stop running, I made it to the Septa.

It took me a while to realize that the front portion of my hair was literally FROZEN in the shape of my running motion due to my wet hair and east coast winter weather.  They were icicles of an undulating figure: sticking out from the top and sides.  I had to melt them by cupping sections of my hair with my  hands...

i think even my eyebrows were slightly frozen
i'm such a good friend

Finals Week

Remember how people were talking about that imminent earthquake in California?

Sometimes, I wish it would happen.  Then I wouldn't have to take finals.

During my optics exam, I thought I felt the ground and my desk shaking.  I was so excited--I could feel my eyes getting wide and my ears strangely migrate upward.  'What great timing!'
But it stopped and it happened to be my neighbor erasing furiously.
