Dreams

Sometimes I get distracted by what the modern world expects.  Everyone...should be doing everything.  If you don't have this, if you haven't eaten this, if you haven't been here, if you haven't done this...

There is this ironic anxiety of trying to experience everything.

Really think, though, what would really make you feel deeply satisfied?  What will make you feel like you lived an abundant life.

Here are my goals in life:
1. Provide for my family financially, in opportunity, and in example.  I never want them to feel the anxiety of not having enough for medical procedures, to learn, to enjoy youth...I also want them to feel comfortable in depending on one another emotionally as well.  Just as my parents have done for me.
2. Medical missions with my family: ultimate goal is NK!
3. Visit Italy and France.  I will ask no more.  Just let me see them--let me breathe the air, walk on the ground, eat from their grains!!!!  Although nowadays I am thinking that I should just not go because my expectations are so freakishly high and I have super romantic perception of those countries.  Whatever, all I know is that I will cry as soon as my foot touches European land.
4. Live in a foreign country for at least 1 year: hopefully Paris.
5. Have a home with a big kitchen, big bathroom, as well as a big garden in a safe neighborhood.  Or at least live next to one a nice garden :)
6. I don't want work to be separate from who I am.  I hope I never stop learning new treatments and management of eye issues--like my staff doctor said, "Lifelong refinement and art of knowing how to treat patients."  I hope I always love my patients and see them as my own family.  I also hope to have a possible art classes/gallery inside my practice as well.  I don't agree with the fact that "seeing is believing" but it is a great gift to enjoy the things we catch with our eyes--and I know I enjoy artwork very much.  I know my aunt who is a professional ikebana florist wants to open a shop, perhaps next to mine!
7. Become more fluent in Korean.  One day I hope to be able to read a Korean newspaper front to back and understand everything: politics, medical terms, education...etc.
8. To be with someone who intuitively gets me.
9. Publish a book or create short film.
10. _______________________________________?

Ultimately...
Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
